Transmission, Check! Air Ride, Check!

We have been working so much in the shop that even the Frid was getting some love. All holes we filled on the chassis that were not being used anymore. All the dents and dings were massaged out in the original floor pans. One little section had to be replaced, we will have that installed before the Open House.

The wood stencils are at water jet and should be mocked up and on the chassis for the event as well.

The rear air ride is about finished and will be deburred and sanded ready for powdercoat right after the event. Front beam will be installed, new brake line brackets, Mamba Shifter and seats too!

We got the PRO-Street Trans back from Buggyworld, outfitted with all the goods to handle the 2332cc monster. We put some special details together that include the chrome axle tubes and heavy duty sideplates.

Big Goal, have the new 17 & 18 inch billets on it for the event, we will see if that happens.

Scat Procar's are being installed

P152

Gary wanted to install some new seats and selected some Scat Procar's that will become short backs with out the head rests. To get them positioned to match the factory seat, we had to mock up the seat on stilts to match. It looks high but it's just right.

Wait till you see how we are going to mount them, your jaw will hit the ground.

Smoothness, it's a sickness

We purchased a set of pan halves from  a company who imports them from Denmark. Not real happy with them, on a scale of 1-10, they are probably a 4. Almost unusable. We came to the determination that we would use the original versions and just use parts of them Danish pans. So we cut off the mounting flange, e-brake handle bracket, heater outlets and brake line holders. We will outfit with the goods shortly.

Air ride install is next.

Chassis is back from the strippers..... pennyless

P200

What we thought was salvageable floor pans, we uncovered repairs that were not noticeable. So we ordered new pan halves, removed all the heater connections, brake line brackets and soon the ebrake bracketry. one we have the new pan halves in house, we will make sure they match up before we remove the old ones. You never know, you know?

Gary has decided to go gloss black on the chassis with some red accents and chrome details through out. Should be nice, will be an understatement.

Broke down, in the good way! The Frido-chassis gets dismantled.

The (Free-dough-lin) project is off and running. The body was taken off the chassis after Matt Howard from Deluxe Customs came over to assess the undertaking. Lots of metal work needed on this one. But if Gary, the project owner is right, and there are only about 200 or so left, the money and time will be well worth it.

Once the body was removed, the chassis was assessed and the project was disassembled. We had that done in less than 1 hour with two guys flying on it.

Chassis was dropped off to the great people at Xpress Stripping in Apache Junction. We will get it back on Monday, the 2nd where we will find out what was lurking under the paint, grease and grime.

We have discussed options with Gary and we are going with a Gloss Black Daily Dream Chassis outfitted with Air Ride, Super Trans, 4 Wheel BAD Series Disc Brakes and his Bernie Bergman Built 2332cc motor. Oh yeah, we are running the SLC 77 wheels in 17's and 18's. As our main man Brandon says, it should be "Solid"!
